Looks Like I'm LEFT with Egg on My Face: DIY Egg Facial

I can be a bit of a "workaholic", and I've noticed that those late nights are starting to take a toll on my face-- yikes! This paired with stress and raging hormone levels are giving me high school acne woes all over again. I've tried facial washes, creams and toners with no luck. So after doing a little research I found a plethora of DIY facials. The Egg Facial is probably one of the easiest, and most effective facials I've ever tried. So let's take a walk into the kitchen and gather our supplies to give it a try.

DIY Egg Facial

Supplies:

  • 1/2 tbs fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 tbs raw honey

  • 1 egg

How do these ingredients work?

  • Lemon Juice: It lightens dark spots, has antibacterial properties and helps to heal existing acne as well as prevent future breakouts. Lemon helps to remove blackheads while reducing oiliness.

  • Honey: Draws and retains moisture to the skin. It also has antibacterial properties and helps to heal the skin.

  • Egg: Tightens the skin and shrinks pores. Eggs contribute to maintaining elasticity in the skin and can reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Read more about the many beauty benefits of eggs here.

Directions:

Egg Mask
This is what the mixture will look like!

  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl until foamy.

  • Wash and dry your face, then apply the mixture to your face (avoid eye lids and lips).

  • Leave the mask on until it has completely dried and feels tight on your skin (do not exceed 30 minutes).

  • Rinse the mask off with warm water, then rinse your face with cold water, to close those pores.

*Some people may have different reactions to the ingredients used, so always test on a patch of skin if you are not sure how it will react!

I'm one of those people that needs to see/feel something to believe it, and I absolutely love this facial because I can feel it working. I can feel my skin gently tighten and when I rinse the mask off my skin feels so soft. After doing this twice a week for two weeks I have noticed that my acne scars are lightening up.
