Welcome to DIY Queen, a website dedicated to awesome do-it yourself (DIY) projects ranging from glamorous décor to all natural detergent! I’m your host, Symone Grady, and I absolutely love DIY projects. The only thing I may love a little more is the priceless look on someone’s face when they compliment me on something and I tell them that I made it myself… and burritos… I love burritos.

 

I’ve always had a creative knack, but I credit my passion for DIY projects to my mother. As a child she often used creative projects as a means for bonding. Whether it was painting a room in the house together or making ugly Christmas sweaters for our pets, I loved the form of creative expression and challenge associated with trying something new.

Over the course of my life this passion has developed into one of my favorite hobbies. It’s exciting to be able to create things that look even better than a store bought version, and that costs far less. That is the beauty of DIY; with just a few dollars and a pinch of creativity you can make amazing things.

But what good is creating wonderful items, if you can’t share them with others?! I seize every opportunity to share my successes… and fails with others. That, my friend, is precisely why I have created this website. With every post, I will focus on a new DIY project and provide instructions, a materials list, photos, and the amount of money I spent on the project.

 I am so excited to get started and to add to this ever growing DIY community of ours. The key word there is COMMUNITY; so don’t be a stranger! I love hearing feedback from fellow DIY fanatics so feel free to comment on posts and share your own experiences on the DIY Queen forum.
